What is acupuncture and how does it work?

In English, the Noun of acupuncture was established by two words; “accurate and Puncture” same as Accuweather or AccuRadio, etc…means puncturing the special needle accurately into special points.

As we know there was no more medical service in ancient time. People when they got sick only depend on body self-healing system. Acupuncture and moxibustion plays an important role in treating diseases, increasing ability of self-healing system and help people prevents disease.

A lot disease even today, we still don’t know how to produced, it’s disappointment when we try to find the reason which is causes the disease but most time we get answer is: unknown or was not very clear.

But we understand most of these unknown or not very clear diseases were creating by the body, whenever our self-healing system was troubled by harmful stimulations, such as pollution of environment, radiating, chemical, or bad eating and life attitude, emotional pressure. Etc.

Theoretically, in logical thinking we know the body can creating disease and body can get ride of disease as well. Question is how can we telling the body corrects the mistake and do right thing survive our life. We need to build up a dialog bridge between sick body and providers. Acupuncture is one of the bridges, that sending stimulation signals to certain place of body, we called acupuncture points:

Body starts to re-check and re-balanced after stimulations, finally correct mistake and curing the diseases.

In our conclusion: Acupuncture not treats disease, Acupuncture treats our body, and disease will be cured after re-adjusting of self-healing system.

From this point, we can say: any disease which can be cured after re-adjusting of self-healing system is the acupuncture treatment area.

For health people acupuncture will remarkable improve blood circulation, speed up body metabolism and increasing body Vital energy (Qi).

Acupuncture works bases on the Qi, (body vital energy), or we can interpreter into body self-healing system. Means Acupuncture therapy works well when our body self-healing system there, otherwise acupuncture will only as supplementary therapy in all treatment process, such as joint replacement, or cancer treatment.

What is meridian system?
Meridian system and also called channels and collaterals (Jing Luo in Chinese). Meridian system is not anatomy and biology system, it’s a distribution method which created in ancient China descript human being physiological function, biological reaction and treatment area when they are in sick. For example, a person suffers from asthma, we can check and Lung meridians to prove disease and select treatment points in Lung’s meridian as well. Again: when a person suffers headache, we can check different meridians along the head and other part of body to give correct diagnoses and offer effective treatment.

A. The National Institute of Health conducted a scientific review in 1997 and conducted
through the review of random controlled clinical trials that acupuncture has the following
biological effects on the body:
• Acupuncture releases endorphins, substances which inhibit pain
• Acupuncture regulates the endocrine functions in the body
• Acupuncture increases the circulation
• Acupuncture enhances the body’s immune function
In addition, two key points were presented within this report: a comparison between
acupuncture and conventional western medicine was made: “One of the advantages of
acupuncture is that the incidence of adverse effects is substantially lower than of many
drugs or other accepted medical procedures used for the same conditions. (NIH p.9),
and the panel of experts concluded that acupuncture has much to offer in today’s
medical treatment model: “There is sufficient evidence of acupuncture’s value to expand
its use into conventional medicine and to encourage further studies of its physiology and
clinical value.” (NIH 1997 Report p.19).
